Little Big Town Welcome Another Member To The Group

Congratulations to Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town on the birth of their first child. According to People magazine, Elijah Dylan Westbrook was born Friday in Nashville weighing seven pounds, 14 ounces and was nearly 20 inches long.

Karen actually got a degree in early childhood education before pursuing music, and her husband Jimi tells People, "She has always been so good with children. Besides, she's doing a great job raising me to become a responsible adult." The couple were married in 2006 and Karen admits they've been waiting a long time to have a child together.

Just before Elijah arrived, Jimi admitted he could never deal with being pregnant himself. He says, "There's a reason we don't do that, carry babies, because we would be in fetal position and there would be no procreation. It's unbelievable what the body goes through. It's alien." Karen picks up there and tells us Jimi is referring to her swollen ankles. She says with a laugh, "You know your Aunt Maggie's cankles? That's what happens when you get pregnant."
